When your Daily life of activities are getting hampered everyday because of your knee pain or you have started restricting yourself to home or single place due to your knee pain or your knee range of motions not allowing you to walk properly ~ Seeing your x-ray images and your clinical profile your doctor will suggest you the best required treatment or Surgery.

Usually patients get knee replacement surgery done in their Sixties but there is no thumb rule to it – when you have a problem you will go for the solution. So age will not decide your correct Surgery time instead your symptoms or complaints will decide the course of treatment required
Most of the time From Day one of the Surgery patient mobilisation will start with the help of physiotherapist and walker ~starting the rehabilitation from the beginning – usually the required rehabilitation varies from patient to patient but it is from 12 days to 30 days
You will start walking from the very same day of the Surgery -usual walking with Walker for 15 days and without Walker after 25 days approximately. Most of the patients get back to their normal schedule in 30 days.
Every Surgery has its own complications -For Knee Replacement Surgery most common complications are ; Infection / Deep Vein Thrombosis / Pulmonary Embolism / Fracture / Peri prosthetic Fracture / cement syndrome / This all can be avoided with certain protocols and precautions which your doctor will ask you to follow.
Titanium, Cobalt chromium molybdenum alloys are the most commonly used alloys. Zirconium or Oxidised gold plated implants can also be used. Your doctor will decide which material and implants are best for your knee according to the patient profile.
